This is the spot to find all the newest information from MUA2 on Twitter. Me and AdamnessX (below) will be updating this post daily with the newest tweets from the MUA2 developers! Newest tweets will be added at the bottom of each list.

THE MUA2 DEVELOPERS & IMPORTANT OTHERS:

DEVELOPER TWEETS:

Character Related:

-Playing through as Deadpool is a must. His non sequiturs are hilarious.

-Deadpool: You unlock him by defeating him in battle. This happens in the first Act of the game.

-Gambit: He is playable after completing the first two missions, which is as close to the start as
you can get.

-Jean: Her TK power will allow her to pick up and launch enemies. We narrowed its focus to make it more useful in combat. This time out, you have to be closer to the object. The enemy’s position is
not a factor on how the TK works

-Juggernaut: I believe he will count towards the X-Men team bonus, but I haven’t verified this

-Spider-Man: Spider-Man will choose the side the player chooses. His story POV and upgrades will change with this choice.

-Penance: We hear Robbie as Speedball, but you can’t play as Speedball.

-Nightcrawler: On the panel, I said he was dead to tease the audience. You don’t have to have
saved Jean to unlock her.

-Jean’s fusions focus more on controlling physical objects around her.

-Most of the costumes were adapted from the Civil War series as drawn by Steven McNiven and a few pieces done by Adi Granov.

-I’m not sure when we’re allowed to talk about alternate costumes. I’m pretty sure there’s a plan to reveal them with screenshots

-Playable Jean: You have to unlock her.

-Blocking: Invisible Woman uses a forcefield. We tried to create unique blocks for everyone this time out

-DP. Ah… we’ve been calling it their portrait. It doesn’t change with costumes. We don’t have the
memory to store alt. DPs.

-Unlocking Heroes: Players can unlock Jean, Thor, and Hulk via hero artifacts.

-Reviewing heroes power names. We want the names to have personality and inform players what the
powers actually do. It’s a balancing act.

-"Some good ol’ fashioned combat testing today. Evaluating how responsive a heroes powers are, as
well as how they flow from one to the next”

-Changing Costumes: These can be changed in the pause menu.

-There’s no “versus” mode per se. You do fight other superheroes though.

-Pheonix: She has some Pheonix powers, but they must work in the game space. She can’t disintegrate the entire level. grin

-Sue Storm: I think we did a good job creating a unique playstyle for her.

-Jean. I’m not sure I follow the question now. She will have a TK Grip power for AI which can be upgraded. It’s pretty nice.

-Most Powerful Heroes. Jean is up there. We tried to make powerful heroes in the comics feel more powerful overall.

-Hero Artifacts. They are like the action figures in the last game. You collect a certain number, it unlocks Jean.

-Gambit. He is essentially a default character.

-Hey Jean fans, I made a new background for you.
See the new background at http://twitter.com/GMRJEN

-Just got done filming some behind the scenes footage. You’ll get to see our offices and the people who made the game, including lil ol me.

DLC:

-Fusion and DLC: Fusion makes creating DLC heroes more challenging and costly.

-Console Exclusives: I can only speak for 360 and PS3. They will have the same heroes on disc. DLC
is still in development.

-MUA2 Wii: VV did not work on MUA2 Wii, so I don’t know the DLC plans for it

-Versus Mode: It proved too challenging to do right in the time we had. Perhaps we’ll reconsider
it for DLC.

-DLC on both platforms PS3 and 360.

-Fans played a large part in picking DLC. Part of the process involved asking fans via surveys.
Can’t say more on who yet.

-Console exclusives. We didn’t choose 24 because of disc space. We chose it because of production reasons.

Random:

-"Reviewing the audio and music for choosing your side. We really want to make it feel both tense and exciting”

-People playing the game seem to really like it.

-Deffinetly a September release. UPDATE: Release date September 15,2009.

-"One problem this type of game always runs into is keeping track of your hero onscreen during
cooperative play.”

-"So right now, we may be adding a final touch that’ll alleviate this for coop. Needless to say,
I’m excited.”

-They are reviewing the hubs and bases in act 1.

-"Will be reviewing mini-boss resistances shortly. Antagonists need love too.”

- http://img197.yfrog.com/img197/2746/t00.jpg <--- This picture is really funny! its one of the
fusions that didnt make the cut

- “Tweet from yesterday: at gamestop trying to convince the manager to put the mua2 pop up at the
front of the store http://yfrog.com/5gcnxqj”

-Demo. I’m pretty sure we’re scheduled to release one. I don’t remember the exact date. I’ll
follow up.

-M’Kraan. Yes, they are scattered around the game like action figures.

- Progression Unlocks. There will be handful unlocked in this fashion. We wanted to make sure they were easy to unlock.

-Demo Date. Just asked publishing. We still don’t have a date locked down yet.

-Trivia. Trivia’s returning, and this time it’s co-op. I’m pretty happy with how trivia turned out.

-The PS3 will use some motion control, yes.

-GMRJEN is back!

-Just wrapped on filming video interviews with the team. I have no idea when they’ll be released, but they should be pretty cool.

TWITTER UPDATES CONTINUED!

Updates from http://twitter.com/Dan_Tanguay -

-Juggs & Sim discs. Approaching things differently with sim discs. All DLC playables should have associated extras, though.

-Invisible Woman. She’s available immediately after the first two “training” maps.

-Right now, the team’s working on DLC

-Weapon Specialist Bonus. I believe so. I would need to double check.

-Unlockables. Artifacts in every mission. However, you don’t need to collect all of them. Wanted it to be easier to unlock guys.

-DLC timeline. Honestly, I’ve never added it up. (Lots of revisions.) I guess I could look into that.

-Sim Discs. Each character has “heroic deeds” to unlock stuff. Sim discs are still there, just not tied to specific heroes.

-Invisible Woman. Decided she wasn’t going to fly since she can already escape situations by turning invisible.

-Console exclusives. X360 and PS3 have the same characters. I don’t know the exclusives for other platforms.

-Artifacts. Thor requires Asgardian Runes, Hulk requires Gamma Regulators. I don’t remember the number. Half dozen maybe.

-Demo Date. Still being finalized

-# of Powers. We kept the 4th locked in the demo

-Console exclusive. If you’re asking about Wii or other platforms, I can’t help you. I don’t know what they have.

-Jean. Telepathic powers are difficult in this game. She will only have one iirc. Re: Emma Frost. Can’t talk roster.

-Penance. Unlocked halfway or so.

-Costumes. It really depends on the players whether they find it fulfilling or not.

-Super Moves. Fusions are the super moves this time out.

-Alt costumes. We have some really unique ones that didn’t appear in the previous game.

-Passive Abilities. Yep, you nailed it. Each character has 6 of those types of passives.

-New Feature Never Before Seen. Wow.. .that’s a tough one. On-the-fly upgrading is rare, but I have seen it before.

-Speedball. Alternate costumes can’t have new active powers and fusions. So we had to pass on the Speedball costume.

-Costume Hints. There’s a plan in the works for releasing that information. I’ll ping marketing about it.

- 4 Powers. Each hero has 4 active powers, 6 passive abilities, and 23 (initial) fusions.

-4 Powers. Upgrading an active power will--at certain points--change how that power plays.

-Cheat Codes. There will be cheat codes.

-Storm. I believe her hail or her wind power can chill enemies if you upgrade it.

- Unlocking Jean. You can unlock Jean after discovering 5 M’Kraan Fragments. So probably halfway into the game.

-Jean & Susan. They have some similar fusions and some different ones, since their inherent powers are somewhat similar

-Fantastic Shield. One of powers doubles as a launcher and a shield.

-Alternate Costumes. They allow players to express how they want their hero to look.

-Chill. Chilling enemies slows them down, making them easier targets.

-DLC chars have more powers? That would imbalance the DLC chars. They’ll have the same number of powers as the others

-# of missions. IIRC, there are 12. Some of them are loong, though.

-Costumes. There will be alt costumes. However, none of them will be based on movies. We don’t have the movie license.

-Green Goblin. He is unlocked later in the game.

-Console exclusives. I don’t know when they are revealed. Ask Newslad on Hero HQ.

-My first post on Hero HQ for VIP members: http://www.herohq.com/forum

-Alt Costumes. Each hero will have one alt costume on disc. We wanted more but they are very expensive to make.

-Faction differences. Each side will have similar missions, but the objectives, enemies, and bosses will change.

-Sim Discs. I believe there are 12 shipping on disc.

-There will be a demo. I believe you can play as 8 characters in that demo

-Quantity vs quality. No need to apologize. It was a difficult decision, but it’s the price of making a truly next-gen game.

-Ms. Marvel. She has several punch-style powers that take advantage of her strength.

-Pro/Anti teams. There will still be Pro/Anti-specific heroes.

-Ms. Marvel. She can lift damn near everything. We cut flying while carrying things though. It required too many anims.

-Change Chars. After the first two training maps.

-Save Game. If players are of a similar level, players can have independent saves. If not, it uses the hosts.

-# of NPCs. Not sure. Probably over a hundred.

-Re: Scorpion. Unfortunately, we cannot support new attacks or powers with skins. So no Scorpion.

-Storm. She will be available at the beginning.

-Jean. She will have some Phoenix powers.

-Sue’s shield. She can use it while blocking or during certain powers. She cannot move with it.

-One alt. It was a difficult decision, but costumes are much more costly to make now

-: One alt. There will be other things to collect instead of costumes.

-Play Length. 15 hours or so for one playthrough.

-Training. You cannot switch heroes. It would be impossible to train fusion otherwise. Training lasts 30 mins or so.

-Bosses/Mini-Bosses. Hrm, it’s a big number. Well over 50 I think.

-Iron Fist and Songbird. They become available when Civil War starts.

-DD. He will be available in the beginning because of his role in SW.

-Sue. Sue’s shield can’t be shared with the team this time. She has other powers that benefit the team, though.

-Achievement List. Hrm, did someone leak it? There’s only 23 because the final char doesn’t have an alt costume.

Updates from http://twitter.com/GMRJEN -
- I’m pretty sure there’s a plan to reveal the dlc at launch. Curious, who would you want?

-We’re back at work today making sure juggernaut is tuned correctly.

-We’ve started working on the DLC so it has been decided. Every character takes months to make so we neede

LIST CONTINUED #3

Updates from http://twitter.com/Dan_Tanguay-
-There are 3 major acts. Act I = Secret War & Road to Civil War, Act II = Civil War, Act III = the aftermath of Civil War.

-Training. Each map is roughly 15 mins.

-Artifacts. They aren’t right out in the open, but they aren’t difficult to find either.

-Training. Yes, after training, roughly a dozen new heroes will be available to pick from.

-Levels per Act. Roughly 10 or so. All acts are about the same length.

-Boost drops. They will be fixed. However, there are over 200 boosts in the game, so it should provide enough variety.

-Resurrection. Jean has the power to resurrect. Everyone else can use healing tokens to revive heroes.

-Ms. Marvel. She has an orb-based power, yes.

-Progression. You will share progression. You won’t have “your” set of heroes and “your brother’s” set of heroes

-Cutscene time. We have over an hour of pre-rendered cutscenes and briefings. As for engine cutscenes, I don’t know.

-Jean will have a percent chance of resurrection.

-Juggs. He’s pretty powerful, yeah. grin

- Ms Marvel. She has a distance closer and a jump slam that powers up her fists for more smashing.

-Venom and GG. They get unlocked in Act 3.

-Jean and No-Revival Achievements. Hrm… it *should not* but I don’t know for sure. I’ll need to follow up on that.

-Percent Chance. Sometimes it will fire, sometimes it won’t. Upgrading it will increase the probability it does.

-Cage. He’ll be there from the beginning

-Resurrection. It’s a passive ability. When she gets knocked out, there’s a percent chance she’ll revive automatically.

-Frontline. We pull inspiration from a lot of Civil War series, including Frontline

-Mr. F passives. *laugh* Solve all trivia. Yeah, he doesn’t have that one, but he does have defensive and critical powers.

-Lag issues. We have been working pretty hard to improve network play. It should be better, but I don’t have specific #s.

-Gambit and Storm. They get involved in SW if players choose them to get involved. Fictionally, Nick Fury calls on them instead.

-New Warriors. They are still responsible for Stamford.

-HQs. Yes, there will be multiple HQs.

-Females available at beginning. Storm & Invisible Woman.

-Resurrection. Actually, I don’t remember. I think it’s upgradeable, since it should be using the generic revival system.

-Boosts. Boosts can be swapped at any time. As long as they are equipped, the effects are permanent.

-Favs. I do like Ms. Marvel a lot, but the last unannounced char is also a fav

-Telepathic move. I don’t think we intend to announce specific moves before launch.

-Fusions. For 24 chars, there’s 276. They fall into about 15 different classes, with layered differences to make them unique.

-Hail. She calls down hail in a radius around her. It will initially target whatever the player first has targeted in combat.

- Jean’s passives. I don’t think she has a telepathic passive

-1P PS3. We’ve been working hard on improving the PS3 framerate as well.

-Shorter than MUA1? Our overall maps are bigger than MUA1, but our branching for Civil War shortens the story a little.

-Less than Four. With the focus on fusion, we wanted to have all four chars onscreen

-Conceptopolis, one of our contract studios, has posted Juggernaut’s concept art: http://conceptopolis.com/Ne

-New interview: http://bit.ly/oCD1E #MUA2

-Another new interview: http://bit.ly/e6wX6 #MUA2

-Songbird. She will be unlocked in Act II.

-Fusions. Once you factor in DLC, we will easily have over 400 fusions in the game.

-Ms. Marvel. She’s unlocked in the 2nd mission. So not too long after you begin the game.

-Costume Guidelines. Theme plays a role. We also wanted to pick costumes you haven’t seen before (when appro).

-Sentinels. They do not play a role in the story.

-Thor;Hammer Throw. He does not this time.

-Jean’s Powers. A mix of telekinesis and cosmic fire powers.

-Passives. Passives stay on all the time, as long as you invest points in them

-Invisibility. This is actually an active buff players need to spend stamina on.

-Local Invite. You should be able to play with a mix of local and online friends.

-Leveling. Characters have levels. We also have level caps for each difficulty mode.

-Storm’s Eyes. They are brown in the trailer, and we caught the mistake. They should be blue in the final game.

-Complete End. You will get a final ending playing just one side. But you won’t know the whole story.

-http://www.herohq.com/forums/viewthread/11987/ IS ICEMAN CONFIRMED IN THIS TWITTER POST?

-Invisibility. This is actually an active buff players need to spend stamina on.

-HQs. Each side in the war has their own HQ.

-Leveling up roster. Yes, the roster will level up behind the scenes. They will be several levels behind your actives

-Best char. We’ve tried to make them so there is no best character. grin They all have their role in the game.

-Gambit. Playable near the beginning of the game.

-Stat Freedom. No stat freedom this time around. You can still get permanent state bonuses from collectibles tho.

-360 and PS3 = 24 + Juggernaut + DLC

-Active Buff. This will be assigned to a face button. No pausing the game

-Cheat Codes. Unlocking heroes should not disable achievements. Other cheat codes should

-Jean lifting a car. Yes she can

-Hero Artifacts. They will appear in each mission, not each level.

-Online. Online play will not skip the training levels. (They’re pretty fun.) But it will disable the training text

-TK Fastball. Jean picks Wolvie off the ground using TK and flings him toward a target. Looks pretty awesome.

-Female Chars. I enjoy Marvel’s female characters. There will be more in DLC

-Penance. You unlock him at the beginning of Act 3.

LIST CONTINUED

-Sparkle Glove. GG doesn’t have it this time out. Re: Hulk. He can only jump as high as the engine allows.

-Rulk. No alts have their own voice acting. That would have been out of scope. (Even tho it isn’t Banner.)

New information is up:

@camdenuyl Re: Jean. I’m not sure I follow the question now. She will have a TK Grip power for AI which can be upgraded. It’s pretty nice.
@Spideywolvie Re: Trivia. Trivia’s returning, and this time it’s co-op. I’m pretty happy with how trivia turned out.
@cordova1992 Re: Most Powerful Heroes. Jean is up there. We tried to make powerful heroes in the comics feel more powerful overall.
@Mummra_t_e_l Re: DLC. Still working out the specifics. Sorry. grin
@Cable2006 Re: Exclusives. Xbox and PS3 will have the same playable characters.
@Spideywolvie The PS3 will use some motion control, yes.
@Bgy_Nizer Re: Hero Artifacts. They are like the action figures in the last game. You collect a certain number, it unlocks Jean.
@dylanfry Re: Favs. Hrm, I have a hard picking 4. And one of them hasn’t been announced yet. (the question was: who are your favorite 2 male and fem characters) If we find out who his top 3 characters so far are, we should be able to confirm if 1 more male/female is coming our way. Watch this space.
@Byaaah31 Re: Gambit. He is essentially a default character.
