From Kalina’s new post:

Kalina - 08 February 2010 02:03 PM

One last note on DLC.  We are trying, trying to bring it back - first by appealing to the ‘unseen forces’ and second by seeing if we can cobble together a Gold edition with the content.  Nothing for sure yet, but there are efforts being made.  If something does happen, you will hear it from me!

No guarantees, but still good to know that they want to make the content available.  Here’s hoping for a Gold edition.

You think they might make more DLC? Or focus on the xmen game now?

I am hoping that IF they do a Gold Edition that they do add at least 2 more to the game probably 2 NPCs that were already in the game as a way of saying sorry to those that didnt get the DLC when it was put up.

Currently, there is no way to get the DLC pack with cash, credit, or otherwise.  If they end up releasing a Gold edition, you won’t need a credit card to buy it.

Unless you order the Gold Edition from Amazon or some other on-line retailer you wont need to use a credit card. wink

Unless this gold edition would only be $20, I wouldn’t be interested. I would definitely purchase the original DLC if it’s brought back but I wouldn’t buy another copy of the game just to play as 6 more characters. That said, if that’s the only way to bring it back then at least people have an option to get those characters if they want them bad enough.

i dont understand why they would take the DLC down, and they should have made more for the game.

Whoever is at fault, I don’t think it is fare to blame anyone until we know all the facts. W could be attacking the wrong people in this mess.

I had wanted the game when it came out, but was convinced to wait until after Christmas because I might get it as a gift. I didn’t get it so a few weeks after Christmas, when my bank account had recovered from the holiday, I picked it up. I went to download the dlc & found that it’s gone. I’m not sure exactly who is responsible for the decision to remove it, but they have got a serious lesson to learn about marketing. You don’t promise your customers that their will be a lot of dlc then remove the first pack of it after a very short period of time. That’s as good as spitting in the face of the people that spent their hard earned money on your product. If it had been stated from the beginning that it was limited time, I could deal with that. It would still be unfair, but at least it would be honest. I know that people with the company are trying to bring it back. I hope that it comes back as dlc & not a gold edition. Both would be fine, but for those of us that already own the game, a gold edition at $60-$70 is just a smack in the face. We should not have to spend over $10 for each extra character. Plus, we were led to believe that this was just the first round of dlc. Was this just a lie? Because if so that is flat out false advertising & it is a horrible way to treat your customers. To be honest, after this I do not know if I would pick up a Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 if they made it. Whoever was behind this decision has taught me that they do not care about us customers. If they don’t care about us, I’m not interested in putting money in their pocket.

Actually the Gold Edition of the first game was $50, so chances are IF they do a Gold Edition they will probably make the price anywhere from $40-50.

That would still be a lot to pay just to get the extra characters. It’s great for newcomers, but horrible if you already own the game.
