Silliest element of the movie (SPOILERS)?

For me it was Weapon XI’s abilities in general: the arm-blades couldn’t possibly fit in his arms, unless hes unable to bend his elbows when the blades are sheathed. 2ndly, his head and body surviving separately- absurd, even for regeneration. Finally, Cyclops can’t control his optic blasts without a special lens, why could Weapon XI?

How about you?

Oh, man that’s a hard decision! Like I said in another thread it’s hard to decide between blanka’cyclops’deadpool or adamantium bullets for Whereverine.

Actually I guess I’d have to go with Logan’s cheesy I’ve always loved you speech to Silverfox. That had me cracking up the most.

in the comics, scott (cyclops) suffered from severe head trauma as a kid (
so weaponXI being able to control the optic blasts is okay, rogue could do the same.

I do remember that about Cyke, but I thought that was how he discovered his ability, rather than how he lost control of it.  But I don’t remember very well, so if you’re sure I’ll take your word for it.

I do remember in TAS Rogue couldn’t control Cyke’s power when she stole it.  Don’t recall reading in the books anything about it.

i think the movie was good but everything that has been writin is right they need to get there facts from the comics dude and not just go ahead and do what they like.

I think it’s how soft adamantium seems to be when it’s convenient to the plot. Y’know that whole “unstoppable force meets immovable object” dilemma? Yeah, that.

Yep, that plot device was among many poorly thought out elements of the shallow story they threw together.

Well for Weapon XI’s optic blasts, perhaps he had some kind of psychic control over it from Emma Frost or Stryker’s kid

Obviously, someone never read the comic which the movie is based. Cyclops should be able to control his ability but had psychological damage that occured when he was very young. This prevents him from controlling his powers. Weapon XI doesn’t have the damage so he can control his power.

Technically, the trauma he sustained was physiological, not psychological.  But that’s what I was wondering, “did the head injury cause him to be unable to control the power,” so thank you for answering that question.

The rest of Weapon XI’s silliness remains, but at least it’s one silly less than I thought smile

yeah lame line.  But his swords-slicing through-bullets scene was very believable, otherwise *snicker*

cool video…

I guess what I should have said was the “human whirlwind of katanas slicing through hundreds of bullets” scene was very believable wink
